Currently cloning and expressing human recombinant olfactory receptors (mainly G protein-coupled receptors) in heterologous cell lines, ChemCom is active in helping people to find and identify known or new agonists (odorants) or antagonists (blockers).
A functional HTS platform and related discovery technologies are available. ChemCom has implemented this robust screening platform integrating a multivariate 'image' and the odors of different compounds. Each 'image' holds a record of the binding interactions between a given odorant and the full panel of olfactory receptors. Well known compounds are used to generate the general map of human olfaction.

CHEMCOM ADDS VALUE IN MANY PHASES OF FLAVOUR AND FRAGRANCE DEVELOPMENT :
| Phases of development | ChemCom impacts |
| Synthesis or isolation of novel compounds | Accelerated screening and immediate Structure Activity Relationship (SAR) data lead to more effective development
|
| Screening for chemical stability and odor | High throughput screening (HTS) eliminates bottleneck by reducing dependence on human being
|
| Safety tests and regulatory filing | Toxicity can be performed afterwards only on hits or leads discovered via HTS representing an important save of costs |
| Formulation | Olfactory receptor profile matching can be used to assist to formulate new mixtures or to add new properties (specific malodors blockers) |
